The Book Handlers is a world premiere comedy about a service that will make your books look read, even though they, of course, haven't been. Your library will soon be full of dog-eared, book-marked, marginalia-filled tomes, making you look like the intellectual that you aren't. If you have enough money, you can impress all your highfalutin friends. Following the work days of four book handling employees, The Book Handlers is a satire inspired by a short story by Brian O'Nolan. Join John, Connie Diane, Linda, and Jard in their bizarre office as they pass the time making others look well-read.
The Book Handlers is the second full-length play of Buntport Theater Company's 17th season, following on the heels of Edgar Allan Poe is Dead and So Is My Cat. As with all Buntport productions, it is a world premiere, created collaboratively by the five-member ensemble. It plays in conjunction with their various monthly programs, such as The Great Debate, Siren Song, and Magnets on the Fridge #newDenver.
