Bravo! Vail Music Festival has announced its 29th season, which will take place from June 23 to August 6, 2016. This season features the festival's first residency with an international orchestra, London's world-renowned Academy of St Martin in the Fields, led by acclaimed violinist and Music Director Joshua Bell. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic return for residencies alongside a number of today's most esteemed soloists and chamber artists.

The Academy opens the season on June 23 with Mozart's Symphony No. 25, and Bell and pianist Jeremy Denk perform Mendelssohn's Double Concerto for Violin and Piano on June 25. The Academy concludes its residency on June 26 with Vivaldi's The Four Seasons and Piazzolla's The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.

On June 29, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra kicks off its concert series with Orff's operatic masterpiece, Carmina Burana. "Ellis Hall: Ray Charles, Motown, and Beyond," a selection of songs celebrating Ray Charles and the rich history of Motown, will be performed by the Orchestra and "Ambassador of Soul" Ellis Hall on July 2. On July 3 violinist Augustin Hadelich plays Bruch's Violin Concerto, conducted by Jaap van Zweden. On July 4, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra will perform patriotic favorites conducted by Jeff Tyzik and featuring vocalist Ellis Hall. The Philadelphia Orchestra begins its residency on July 8 with an all-Beethoven program conducted by Bramwell Tovey and featuring pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet. On July 9, Lio Kuokman conducts "Cirque de la Symphonie," an event in which acrobats will perform incredible acts to selections of popular and classical music. On July 14, Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts an evening of Grieg, Sibelius, and Shostakovich featuring pianist Kirill Gerstein. Violinist Lisa Batiashivili plays Dvo?ák's Violin Concerto on July 15, and the Orchestra concludes its residency on July 16 with Mahler's epic Resurrection Symphony.

The New York Philharmonic opens on July 22 with Spanish and Spanish-inspired music conducted by Tovey. On July 27, Music Director Alan Gilbert conducts Richard Strauss's passionate tone poem Ein Heldenleben, and on July 28, violinist Leila Josefowicz performs Prokofiev's intense and biting Violin Concerto No. 1. The Philharmonic ends its residency on July 29 with an epic all-Wagner program.

Bravo! Vail's Chamber Music Series, held on Tuesday nights in July at the Donovan Pavilion, offers dynamic selections from the chamber music repertoire. On July 5, Augustin Hadelich, Anne-Marie McDermott, and members of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra perform Ysaÿe, Golijov, and Shostakovich; members of The Philadelphia Orchestra play an intimate concert of Mozart and Brahms on July 12; the Dover Quartet performs Beethoven on July 19; and musicians of the New York Philharmonic conclude the series on July 26 with an arrangement of Bruckner's Symphony No. 7.

On August 6 Bravo! Vail will stage a revolutionary environmental piece by John Luther Adams called Inuksuit, which will include sixty-six percussionists dispersed throughout Maloit Park in Minturn, in a coproduction between Bravo! Vail and the Aspen Music Festival and School.

Classically Uncorked presented by Grgich Hills Estate provides audiences with candle-lit evenings of exceptional music, fine wines, and the area's best food in the beautiful Donovan Pavilion. This season's concerts, which take place on August 2, 3, and 4, celebrate the works of living composers from around the world and include a world premiere by composer Poul Ruders.

The popular Bravo! Vail After Dark brings classical music to the Vail Valley's great ale houses and bars. This summer will feature four Friday night concerts at the Vail Ale House, Bonfire Brewery, and Crazy Mountain Brewery. Works from the classical canon and popular hits are played side by side at these spirited concerts.

The Linda & Mitch Hart Soirée Series allows patrons to hear the Festival's incredible musicians in stunning homes throughout the Valley. Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails precede each concert, and a gourmet three-course dinner prepared by one of the area's finest chefs follows the performance.

This year the Bravo! Vail Free Concert Series will have twenty free concerts throughout the Valley. For the Free Family Concert, Classical Kids Live comes to Vail to perform its iconic production "Beethoven Lives Upstairs" on July 13.
