Breaking, some news should be gloriously fake. Bovine Metropolis Theater premiers an improvised news program to wade through irrelevant tweets and fumbling press conferences.
Luckily, the savvy experts at Bovine Metropolis Theater are stepping in to make us laugh with their newest creation, Fake Network News, directed by political dynamo and Artistic Director, Kent Welborn, and running Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. from March 29th to May 17th .
Performed in the style of Meet the Press, AC 360 and other cable news programs, FNN features interviews, recurring segments and round-table discussions between their fake news anchors and a 'virtual who's who' of counterfeit experts, pundits and commentators.
"The fakest of the fake. (@BovineMetro) Sad. So-called journalists make up all the facts. PATHETIC. Only I can do that. LOSERS." President Donald Trump. Note: this is a fake tweet.
While the Pundits might be fake, the issues are utterly real and provided by the audience. Gun control? Sure. Immigration? Why not. The ethics of pet squirrel fashion shows? Um, ok. The anchors, reporters and commentators at FNN are chomping at the bit to give you all the fake news you deserve. The FNN production staff is going rogue, unscripted and improvised. It's all fabricated on the spot, and in front of your lying eyes.
"Do not see this show. It is false American propaganda and lies. Unfunny. Read smart tweets from our puppet, your GREAT AMERICAN President." Vladimir Putin. Note: this is a fake quote.
The audience will suggest current political topics to inspire the glorious hairdos and buffoonish news anchors for the FNN broadcast. Patrons are encouraged to bring an open mind and a willingness to laugh at the absurdities inherent in today's political landscape.
"Fake Network News" premiers Wednesday nights at 7:30, opening on March 29th and running through May 17th. Tickets are $10 online and $12 at the door.
