The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center (FAC) is excited to present the hilariously funny Colorado premiere of Buyer & Cellar Jan 14?24, written by Johnathan Tolins, starring Sammy Gleason and directed by Cory Moosman. Grab your pals and get ready for this hilarious fictional Off?Broadway hit.

The Drama Desk Award winning one?man?show is inspired by the completely real book, My Passion for Design, by Barbra Streisand. In the book, Streisand reveals details about the mall she had built in the basement of her Malibu home. Tolins takes it a step further and creates the story of an underemployed L.A. actor, Alex More, who finds his next gig working in this basement mall. More develops a bizarre and hilarious friendship with his only customer, Babs.

Sammy Gleason (Alex More) was last seen in the FAC's hit productions of Guys and Dolls and Reefer Madness. Other credits at the FAC include The Drowsy Chaperone, Noises Off, Other Desert Cities, The Producers, Crazy For You, and Sweeney Todd. He also recently appeared in A Tuna Christmas at the Millibo Art Theatre.

Jonathan Tolins (Playwright) is the author of Buyer & Cellar, which was named Best Unique Theatrical Experience by the Off?Broadway Alliance. Tolin's other plays include: The Twilight of the Golds, If Memory Serves, The Last Sunday in June, and Secrets of the Trade. His film work includes: The Twilight of the Golds and Martian Child. For television, he was a writer for Queer as Folk, The Academy Awards, The Tony Awards, and Partners. He was the author of Pushkin 200: A Celebration at Carnegie Hall, acted as script consultant on Walking with Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular, and co?wrote The Divine Millennium Tour and The Showgirl Must Go On for Bette Midler. He has written articles for Opera News, Opera Monthly, TheaterWeek, Time, and The Huffington Post, and is a panelist on the Metropolitan Opera Radio Quiz. He is also a member of the Dramatists Guild and the Writers Guild of America.
