The Muldoons and Reillys have lived side by side for generations, hotly disputing a sliver of land between their farms. When it comes to Anthony Reilly's turn to fight for his inheritance, his stubborn neighbor Rosemary longs for him to notice something beyond a patch of grass at last. John Patrick Shanley's (Doubt) tenderhearted portrait reminds us it's never too late to take a chance on love.

"Audiences have been falling in love with this play ever since it premiered on Broadway in 2014," says Producing Ensemble Director, Stephen Weitz. "In addition to being a charming and unconventional love story, it also has so much to say about family, generational differences, and the things we choose to pursue in our lives."

"Outside Mullingar" presents a cast star-studded with some of Colorado's most decorated actors. Tim McCracken makes his BETC debut after successful appearances at Curious Theatre and the Denver Center. Billie McBride, recent winner of three 2015 CTG Henry Awards, joins him as a BETC newcomer. The cast is rounded out by two returning BETC favorites, Emily Paton Davies (How the World Began) and BETC Ensemble member Chris Kendall (Hysteria).

This immensely talented cast will be directed by BETC co-founder and Ensemble member Rebecca Remaly (Annapurna). Remaly says, "I've always been drawn to Shanley's love stories. Like his previous works "Moonstruck," "Danny and the Deep Blue Sea," and "Joe vs. the Volcano," his newest play is smart, funny, warm, strange, and wildly romantic. His characters are at once unique and oddly familiar, filled with all the beautiful contradictions that make us human."

BETC presented two Shanley plays all the way back in Season 1. We can't think of a better way to kick off Season 10.
