BETC's Outside Mullingar is "simply terrific: a moving story, beautifully told and impeccably acted," according to The Denver Post, and audiences seem to agree. With show attendance and demand high, BETC has added two perfomances to the run.
The Muldoons and Reillys have lived side by side for generations, hotly disputing a sliver of land between their farms. When it comes to Anthony Reilly's turn to fight for his inheritance, his stubborn neighbor Rosemary longs for him to notice something beyond a patch of grass at last. John Patrick Shanley's (Doubt) tenderhearted portrait reminds us it's never too late to take a chance on love.

"Outside Mullingar has been a hit around the country every since its premiere in 2014," says Producing Ensemble Director Stephen Weitz. "People have been flocking to Boulder from surrounding areas in great numbers. This charming, hopeful, and unconventional love story is bringing people to BETC, and we are happy to add a couple more opportunities to touch their hearts."

Co-founder and Ensemble member Rebecca Remaly (Annapurna) directed "Outside Mullingar." Remaly says, "We are pleased to present this smart, funny, warm, strange, and wildly romantic play for an extended run. Shanley's characters are at once unique and oddly familiar, filled with all the beautiful contradictions that make us human. The fact that people are demanding more is no wonder."

"Outside Mullingar" presents a cast star-studded with some of Colorado's most decorated actors. Timothy McCracken makes his BETC debut after successful appearances at Curious Theatre Company and the Denver Center. Billie McBride, winner of multiple 2015 Colorado Theatre Guild Henry Awards, joins him as a BETC newcomer. The cast is rounded out by two returning BETC favorites, Emily Paton Davies (How the World Began) and BETC Ensemble member Chris Kendall (Hysteria).

"John Patrick Shanley has not written a more beautiful or loving play than Outside Mullingar," (Variety).
