Cherry Creek Theatre Company will present Baby! The Musical, with Book by Sybille Pearson based on a story developed with Susan Yankowitz, Music by David Shire with Lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. The show is directed by Pat Payne with music direction by Rob Lowe, with Rob Lowe and Trent Hines on Piano and choreography by Piper Arpan.

A heartwarming musical about nature's miracle told from three different generations, Baby was nominated for 7 Tony Awards including Best Musical.

Three couples, each newly expecting a child, have different but familiar reactions. Lizzie and Danny are university juniors who have just moved in together. Athletic Pam and her husband, Nick, a sports instructor, have had some trouble conceiving. Arlene, already the mother of three grown daughters, is unsure of what to do, contemplating abortion while her husband Alan is thrilled with the thought of a new baby. Throughout the show, these characters experience the emotional stresses and triumphs, the desperate lows and the comic highs, that accompany the anticipation and arrival of a baby.

Cherry Creek Theatre presents "Baby! The Musical" tonight, May 31 through June 23 at the Shaver-Ramsey Showroom, 2414 East 3rd Ave. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 6:30 p.m. Single tickets are $28; $25 for seniors/students; $23 for groups of 10 or more. 303-800-6578 or online at www.cherrycreektheatre.org.

"Baby! The Musical" stars Brian Walker Smith (Alan), Megan Van de Hey* (Arlene), Scott Severtson* (Nick), Shannan Steele* (Pam), Emily Ann Luhrs* (Lizzie) and Drew Hirshboeck (Danny). Rounding out the cast are ensemble members Jona Alonzo, Ben Dicke*, Lisa Finnerty and Parker Redford. *Member of Actors Equity Union

Sybille Pearson wrote the book for the musical Baby, which ran on Broadway in 1984, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. David Lee Shire is an Academy Award and Grammy-winning American songwriter and composer of stage musicals, film and television scores. T Shire's television scores have earned five Emmy nominations. Richard Eldridge Maltby, Jr. is an American theatre director and producer, lyricist, screenwriter and a well known constructor of cryptic crossword puzzles.

The production runs Fri/Sat @ 7:30 p.m.; Sun @ 6:30 p.m. Tickets: $28 Adult; $25 for seniors/students; $23 for Groups of 10+.
