The Arvada Center will host the critically acclaimed Creede Repertory Theatre's (CRT) presentation of Around the World in 80 Days adapted by Mark Brown from the novel by Jules Verne in the Black Box Theatre. Previews are tonight, September 27 through September 29 at 7:30 p.m. nightly, opening Tuesday, October 1 through October 27.

Designed to immerse audiences in the world of the play before the curtain rises, these entertaining talks explore the historical context of the play, essential themes and interesting facts about the production. Talks are free of charge and last approximately 15 minutes. The dates and times for the pre-show talks are: Saturday, September 28 (7:00 p.m.); Saturday, October 5 (1:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.); Saturday, October 12 (7:00 p.m.); Sunday, October 13 (1:30 p.m.); Friday, October 18 (7:00 p.m.); Saturday, October 19 (1:30 p.m.); Saturday, October 26 (7:00 p.m.) and Sunday, October 27 (1:30 p.m.).
Audience Talk Backs with the cast will be offered Friday, October 11 after 7:30 p.m. show and Wednesday, October 16 after 1:00 p.m. show. Around the World in 80 Days will be American Sign Language (ASL) interpreted for the hearing impaired on Friday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m.
Around the World in 80 Days is a brilliantly physical adaptation of one of the greatest adventure novels of all time. Having agreed to an outrageous wager that puts his fortune and his life at risk, fearless adventurer Phileas Fogg sets out to circle the globe in a miraculous 80 days. Danger, romance and comic surprises abound in this whirlwind of a show as 5 actors portraying 39 characters traverse 7 continents. Join in the fun as Fogg and his faithful servant Passepartout race around the world in an effort to beat the clock.
Around the World in 80 Days is directed by Charlie Oates and features John Arp (Detective Fix and others), Dustin Bronson (Phileas Fogg), Patrick Du Laney (Quite a lot of characters), Graham Ward (Passepartout and others) and Caitlin Wise (Aouda and others).
Creede Repertory Theatre is an award-winning theater company located in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. The Company presented the Around the World in 80 Days as part of its recently completed 2013 summer season. The adventurous comedy marks the fourth collaboration between the Arvada Center and CRT.
