Arvada Center Presents the World Premiere of 'I'll Be Home for Christmas'

The world premiere musical I'll Be Home For Christmas opens on the Arvada Center Main Stage on Friday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m. This brand new holiday production features music by the Arvada Center's long-time musical director David Nehls. It is the first new musical work developed by the Arvada Center. I'll Be Home for Christmas is sponsored by Lutheran Medical Center.

Performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. through December 23. Preview performances are November 15, 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. Audience engagement events, including happy hours with the cast, are held through the run of the production. Set in 1969, the Bright family prepares for their annual Christmas variety show, one of the most-watched and anticipated television events of the year. In the midst of rehearsals, they welcome their eldest son home from the war. A decorated hero, and former teen idol, Simon is challenged by his return to civilian life and the expectation and anticipation of performing again. I'll Be Home For Christmas is set in the hours leading up to and during the live TV broadcast, featuring rich costumes, great dance numbers and exciting new music along with many seasonal favorites. Bring the entire family to this holiday music spectacular!

The cast features Noah Racey (Dana), Megan Van de Hey (Louise), Jake Mendes (Simon), Kim McClay (Maggie), Andrew Diessner (Len), Sharon Kay White (Carol Marie), Darius Jordan Lee (Sandy) and Sheryl McCallum (Ruby). The ensemble includes Norrell Moore, MAddie Franke, Rae Case, Rachel Turner, Jean-Luc Cavnar, Tucker Worley, Benjamin Roeling and Darrell T. Joe.
Original music and lyrics are by David Nehls, and the book is by Kenn McLaughlin. In addition to director Gavin Mayer, the creative team includes David Nehls (musical director), Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck (choreographer), Brian Mallgrave (scenic design), Samantha R. De La Fuente-Meche (costume design), Megan O'Connor (wig and makeup design), Jon Olson (light design) and David Thomas (sound design). The Arvada Center Artistic Producer, (Musicals) is Rod A. Lansberry.
