Arvada Center Presents NO DOGS ALLOWED, 2/7-4/12

On Thursday, February 7 at noon, the Arvada Center opens the children's theater production No Dogs Allowed, written by Sonia Manzano ("Maria" from Sesame Street), music by Stephan Lawrence, lyrics by Billy Aronson and directed by Edith Weiss. The show will run February 7 - April 12, 2013. Performances are 10:00 a.m. and noon, most Tuesdays through Fridays, select Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. For specific show dates please check our website. No Dogs Allowed is recommended for ages four and up.

No Dogs Allowed will be Audio Described for the sight impaired March 5 at 10:00 a.m. and noon, and Shadow performed for the hearing impaired on March 6 and 7, at 10:00 a.m. and noon. Shadow-interpreted theater utilizes specially trained American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters to perform as "shadows" on stage alongside actors.

Leaving the Bronx for a day at the lake is a rare treat for Iris and her close-knit extended family. Despite Papi's instructions to pack light, Mami brings enough food for a week and Iris sneaks in the family dog - after all El Exigente is part of the family! The drive to the lake is filled with all sorts of misadventure, but the family finally arrives at their destination, only to discover there are ... No Dogs Allowed! Good humor prevails as everyone comes together to save the day in this warm and cheery family venture.

The cast features Seth Caikowski (Juan), Cailin Doran (Mami), Rachel Graham (El Exigente), Sarah Grover (Shorty), Sonia Justl (Iris), Norrell Moore (Carmen), Matthew Peters (Papi) and Tyrell Rae (Don Joe).
