CINDERELLA, the ballet, is playing at The Old Stage in Denmark from March 9th to April 5th, 2019.
A girl without a penny? Tick! An evil stepmother? Tick! A pair of scheming stepsisters? Tick! A fairy Godmother? Tick! A Prince Charming? Tick! Let the fairytale begin.
Is there such a thing as love at first sight? The answer is obvious when Cinderella meets her prince.
"Dear child, remain pious and good, and then our dear God will always protect you," Cinderella's mother tells her daughter on her death bed, but life is not that easy for Cinderella.
The story of the girl with the pure soul and good heart has everything a fairytale requires: a cruel stepmother and mean stepsisters, but fortunately also a fairy godmother, flock of gentle fairies and a remarkably charming prince. The Brothers Grimm wrote the most famous version of Cinderella in the 1800s, and it has continued to inspire artists of all genres ever since.
This version was created by principal dancer Gregory Dean, who choreographed the blockbuster children's production The Forgotten Children last autumn. This magnificent fairytale is a real treat in store for children and adults alike.
A classically delightful story of how love, hope and an open mind can conquer even the depths of despair.
With thanks to Annie & Otto Johs. Detlefs' Fonde - OJD for the special donation from the foundation that made this production of Cinderella possible.
