This season, Ballet de Luxe showcases three of Bournonville's most famous divertissements, two grand classical pas de deux, innovative dance and one of Danish ballet's most iconic works.

With a ticket to this year's Ballet de Luxe, the audience will traverse ballet history in three acts: Bournonville, pas de deux and concluding with Etudes.

The first act highlights excerpts from works by the founder of Danish ballet, August Bournonville: the pas de trois from the vaudeville ballet The Guards of Amager, the famous pas de deux – now as pas de quatre – from The Flower Festival in Genzano and a divertissement from La Sylphide.

The second act opens with the virtuoso showpiece Venetian Carnival from Marius Petipa's ballet Satanella, followed by an entirely new work by Nikolaj Hübbe for two of the company's female dancers. This act concludes with the Bluebird pas de deux from Christopher Wheeldon's The Sleeping Beauty, also featured this season.

The grand finale is performed with Harald Lander's masterpiece Etudes, a declaration of love to dance in its purest form. It is structured around a classical ballet class, starting with the five positions and culminating in a soaring finale. Etudes is a timeless demonstration of the beauty at the heart of ballet.
