Just as Delaware thaws into spring, Possum Point Players sweeps the audience up to "Almost, Maine," a little town that actually isn't. The frosty air and the northern lights are as real as the emotions of the heart and soul that each character shares with all of humanity. It's just the town that is mythical.
"Almost, Maine," is performed April 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 PM; Sunday shows, 2 PM. Tickets are $18; seniors and students are $17. Tickets may be purchased on line at www.possumpointplayers.org or by calling 856-4560.
Linda Killion directs "Almost, Maine," the no-place place where, come of one night, knees and egos get bruised and hearts are broken. Knees and egos heal, usually; hearts mend, well, almost...unless they seem broken beyond repair.
But, who knows what magic might happen on one cold night under the stars, certainly not the residents of Almost. Yet, even residents of an almost mythical town in northernmost Maine should expect the extraordinary when a solar storm sends electrons zooming earthward where they crash into atoms and excite them. Excited atoms can result in many things, including aurora borealis, which is almost an explanation for the happenings one night in Almost.
Possum Point Players is supported, in part, by grants from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
