An Evening with Pat Metheny with Larry Grenadier is coming to the Grand Opera House on October 7, 2011.

Hailed as a "master of stage spectacle" by The Chicago Tribune, blissful and energetic jazz guitarist Pat Metheny and his six-string versatility are almost nearly without peer on any instrument. Over the years, Metheny has performed with artists as diverse as Steve Reich, Ornette Coleman, Herbie Hancock, Jim Hall, Milton Nascimento, and David Bowie, and has authored compositions for solo guitar, small ensembles, electric and acoustic instruments, large orchestras, and ballet pieces, with settings ranging from modern jazz to rock to classical.

Critics and audiences alike have taken notice: considered to be the finest jazz guitarist on the planet, Metheny has won an astounding 18 Grammy Awards - seven consecutively! - in a variety of categories, including Best Rock Instrumental, Best Contemporary Jazz Recording, Best Jazz Instrumental Solo, and Best Instrumental Composition.
