Wilmington Drama League welcomes The Dramatists Guild Foundation Traveling Masters Series: Broadway Playwrights on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Wilmington Drama League.

Broadway Playwrights features Legally Blonde: The Musical co-writers, Laurence O'Keefe (Bat Boy The Musical, Heathers: The Musical) and Nell Benjamin (Mean Girls: The Musical Because of Winn Dixie: The Musical) who will lead a workshop from 10:00am - 12:30pm, where attendees will get first hand knowledge and experience on what goes in to creating a musical.

The day will be capped off with a public performance from 3:00pm - 5:00pm and will feature the combined works of O'Keefe and Benjamin performed by the writers and Wilmington Drama League performers.

The workshop requires a $10 registration fee. RSVP to kathy@wdleague.org to secure your space or ask any questions. The performance is free and open to the public. No RSVP is required.

The Dramatists Guild Foundation is a national charity that fuels the future of American Theater by supporting the writers who create it. The Traveling Masters program brings award-winning writers into communities across the nation for free events and masterclasses on writing.

The Wilmington Drama League is in the midst of their 85th anniversary season of providing theatrical events to the state of Delaware. Known for producing quality musicals and plays, the Wilmington Drama League is also home to their youth division, The Chrysalis Players, which helped grow such talent as Aubrey Plaza, Carly Ciarrocchi, John Gallagher, Jr; Keith Powell, and many others. In addition, the Wilmington Drama League recently started a Second Stage series to produce new and lesser produced works.
