The national tour of LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL will open the holiday season at the DuPont Theatre on Tuesday, December 1 and will run through Sunday, December 5, 2009.

LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL takes the audience from the sorority house to the halls of justice with Broadway's brightest heroine and her chihuahua, Bruiser. And Elle Woods does not take "no" for an answer. So when her boyfriend dumps her for someone "serious," Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

Becky Gulsvig, the Elle understudy in the original Broadway cast, plays Elle Woods in the tour. Fans of the MTV reality show "Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods", which premiered on June 2, 2008, will recognize two familiar faces in the tour casting: Third runner-up Rhiannon Hansen plays Elle's best friend Margot and fourth runner-up Lauren Zakrin is an ensemble member and understudies the role of Elle. The reality show represented the musical's second venture with MTV. In the fall of 2007, MTV aired Legally Blonde The Musical in its entirety to stellar ratings and was subsequently nominated for two 2007-2008 Daytime Emmy Awards.

LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL has been created by a dean's list of top-of-their-class Broadway talent, including director/choreographer Jerry Mitchell (Hairspray); composer and lyricist Laurence O'Keefe (Batboy), and veteran Hollywood and Broadway dog trainer Bill Berloni, who also trained Toto in the DuPont Theatre season opener THE WIZARD OF OZ.

Performances of LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL at the DuPont Theatre are Tuesday through Sunday, December 1 - 5, 2009. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evening performances start at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday evening performances start at 8 p.m., and Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Ticket prices begin at $55.
