In an American Embassy somewhere behind the Iron Curtain in the 1960s, chaos reigns. In the Ambassador's absence, his son Axel is left in charge and mayhem ensues. Joining the regular staff and guests, are Walter, an outspoken  Jewish caterer and his wife Marion and daughter, Susan who are being chased by the head of the Secret Police, in the person of the menacing and vicious Krojack,. Also present to narrate the action is Father Drobney, an eccentric priest who has been in residence for some years, hiding from the communists. Add to this mix the imposing Sultan of Bashir and his first wife, local dignitaries, including Kilroy, the Ambarssador's self-important assistant, as well as his faithful aide, Burns. A temperamental chef and a cast of thousands round out this cast. Non-stop action, belly laughs, precise timing and a touch of romance, make this play is a true representation of Allen's comedic genius.

The Kent County Theatre Guild has been providing quality theater to the central Delaware community since 1953. Our 100-seat auditorium provides every patron an excellent view of our elevated stage. The intimacy of a small theater makes each audience member feel part of the production, which we feel is an important part of community theater. This intimacy adds to the fun when we present plays that involve the audience in the action.
