Tickets are selling rapidly for Possum Point Players' additional performance of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online at possumpointplayers.org or at 302-856-4560.
With all regularly scheduled shows sold out, the players' Trustees President Jonathan Sharp reminds everyone that there is little time left for those wishing to see love transform a fierce beast into Prince Charming, an innocent and courageous beauty, Belle, and her arrogant suitor Gaston, whose voice is as big as his ego. Sharp said, "The dinner plates, silverware and saucy Salt and Pepper shakers are eager to sing and dance and the wolves are lurking in the forest. Don't wait until the last petal falls from the rose to try to get your tickets." Sharp joins a backstage crew that shifts a village into a forest or a grand castle and that helps to guide such characters as the bossy talking clock and the tap dancing candelabra on and off stage.
The familiar music score is performed by area musicians whose work is so precise and note perfect, many of those in the audience think the sound track is recorded. Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" is appropriate for all ages who love a classic fairy tale and an evening of exciting theatre.
Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" is presented through special arrangement with Music Theater International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com.
Possum Point Players is supported, in part, by grants from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
