Description
The show begins with some of the first songs Patsy Cline, in her early 20's, recorded between 1955 to 1957 when she was under contract to Four Star Records. During this time Patsy was married to her first husband Gerald Cline who she divorced in 1957. Also, in 1957 Patsy met her soon to be second husband Charlie Dick.
In 1956, while searching for material for her first album a song appeared "Walkin' After Midnight", which Patsy did not want to record, however, she was forced to record it by her record label. Patsy then won an audition to appear on the Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts in New York City.
When Patsy sang the song "Walkin' After Midnight," the audience meter stopped at its apex, and she won the competition. The song was then released as a single and became her first hit record.
Then in 1960, upon the end of Patsy's contract with Four Star Records, she signed with Decca-Nashville and started recording such hits as "I Fall to Pieces," "Crazy," "She's Got You," and many more, including one of the last songs she performed live "Sweet Dreams."
