After 10 years of working for the Clear Space Theatre Company, Artistic Director and co-founder Doug Yetter has submitted his resignation as Artistic Director of the Clear Space Company effective December 31, 2014 to pursue his musical interests. Doug along with Ken Skrzesz found Clear Space in 2004. Recently Clear Space celebrated 10 years of bringing year-round theatre to our community with diverse productions such as MY FAIR LADY, AVENUE Q, SORDID LIVES, CHICAGO, SOUTH PACIFIC and THE ODD COUPLE (female version). Doug Yetter brought his musical talents to this work for which we are most grateful.
"We are grateful to Doug for his vision to work with Ken Skrzesz to found Clear Space and for Doug's leadership during the first ten years in the Company's history," notes Executive Director Wesley Paulson. "He leaves Clear Space in good hands," says Paulson.
Starting in January, David Button will assume the role of Artistic Director for Clear Space Theatre. "David has worked closely with Doug over the last eight years, including teaching the Broadway Legends class together. Their combined talents have been a cornerstone of the Company's success.
David Button received his B.A. in Theatre with a focus on Acting and Directing from DeSales University in Lehigh, Pennsylvania. He was the Company Manager for Clear Space and teaches as a member of the Arts Institute faculty. David recently directed THE ODD COUPLE, last season's award-winning productions of 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL and RADIO GAGA. While in college, he won awards for his direction of Deborah Pryor's THE LOVE TALKER.
The Company extends its thanks to Doug Yetter for his service and we wish him well in his new endeavors.
