The Clear Space Theatre Company of Rehoboth Beach is currently in rehearsal for their production of THE FOREIGNER opening September 27th and playing Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 pm and Sunday afternoons at 3 pm through October 13th.
The plot follows deals with the socially inept Charlie Baker, a London proofreader, portrayed by David Warick, founder of the Delaware Comedy Theatre, and his long-time Army buddy, Froggy LeSeuer (played by Jerry Birl) as they begin a holiday at a fishing lodge in rural Georgia. Charlie is so shy, he can't speak to the other residents of the lodge, so Froggy convinces them that Charlie is from a strange, exotic land and can't understand a word of English. The cast also stars Cheryl Graves of Rehoboth Beach as innkeeper "Betty Meeks," Erin Williams of Lewes, a former Miss Delaware playing former beauty queen "Catherine Simms," David Buttonof Rehoboth Beach as Catherine's half-wit brother "Ellard Simms," Darren Bobby of Lewes as the "Reverend David Marshall Lee" and Lance Ekas of Rehoboth Beach as Tilghman County Property Inspector and general miscreant "Owen Musser."
