'Tis the season for holiday hilarity at the Delaware Theatre Company. Steve Solomon brings the charm and laughs to his one-man show "My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish, And I'm Home for the Holidays" running through December 21st. More of a stand-up routine than a linear story line, Solomon covers a wide range of topics bound to hit a note with folks from all walks of life.

Solomon is addressing the audience from the airport in Atlanta, where his flight to visit his family is delayed, and from the moment we meet him, his natural charisma takes over, and it feels much like being in the presence of an old friend.

Over the course of the two hour show, Solomon introduces us to his Italian mother, Jewish father, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and even an ex-wife. His different impersonations are incredibly well done and diverse even when the humor relies a bit too much on stereotypes. Still, the majority of the material is met with explosive outbursts of hysteria from the audience which Solomon joyously feed off of.

Solomon's diverse comedic repertoire is sure to tickle every audience member's funny bone at some point during the evening. Whether he is railing against new technology or bluntly explaining his issue with Taco Bell, there is surely something here for everyone. What makes Soloman's routine work, especially around the holiday season, is that while he may poke fun at just about everyone, it never comes from a place of animosity; rather genuine love and affection. Be warned, some of the show may not be appropriate for younger audiences even though none of the material would be considered offensive.

"My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish, And I'm Home for the Holidays" is certainly an entertaining evening at the theater and the perfect gift for that one person on your list that has everything.
