This one-act play tells the Christmas story, using a modern-day setting. Written by Lisa Marling, founder and CEO of Preble Players, A Truly Special Birthday opens with Mary and Joseph trying to find a hospital within their HMO network. The show culminates in a birthday party for the newborn.
