Victoria Theatre Association (VTA) presents the popular lunchtime arts preview series, Mid-Day Arts Café, on Tuesday, May 16th in the Wintergarden, located inside the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. May features Dayton Opera & Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra (DPAA), under the artistic direction of Tom Bankston and Neal Gittleman, and showcases selections Dayton Opera's production of Bizet's CARMEN, which will be performed May 19th and 21st at the Schuster Center. Each Mid-Day Arts Café begins with a delicious boxed lunch provided by Citilites at the Schuster Center at 11:30 a.m., with the presentation starting promptly at noon. Audiences will enjoy a panel discussion with Tom Bankston, Artistic Director of Dayton Opera, Neal Gittleman, Artistic Director and Conductor of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra (and conductor of CARMEN), and Fenlon Lamb, Stage Director of CARMEN. After the discussion, two members of Dayton Opera's Artist-in-Residence program will perform excerpts from CARMEN. The event will end with a raffle and a chance to win two tickets to CARMEN!
Lunch options for Mid-Day Arts Café, provided by Citilites at the Schuster Center include: turkey on ciabatta; curry chicken salad on croissant; Mediterranean trio (gluten free/vegan); kale chicken Caesar salad; and kale Caesar salad.
