VTA presents November Mid-Day Arts Café Featuring Dayton Ballet

Victoria Theatre Association (VTA) presents the popular lunchtime arts preview series Mid-Day Arts Café onTuesday, Nov. 15 h in the Wintergarden of the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. The November Mid-Day Arts Café features close-up look at Dayton Ballets showcasing members of the Dayton Ballet Company. November's Mid-Day Arts Café starts with a delicious lunch box provided by Citilites at the Schuster Center at 11:30 a.m., with the Dayton Ballet presentation starting promptly at noon. The presentation on Nov. 15 is led by Dayton Ballet artistic director, Karen Russo Burke, and assisted by company dancers Margot Aknin, Brooke Fabian, Greg Goessner and Leonard Perez. Mrs. Burke will lead the dancers in a demonstration of company class and partnering techniques as well as provide information regarding Dayton Ballet's upcoming production ofThe Nutcracker, which will be performed at the Schuster Center, Dec. 16-18 and 20-23. Mrs. Burke will also lead a short Q&A at the end of the presentation. Dayton Ballet is a part of the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance which also includes the Dayton Opera and Dayton Philharmonic.

Bring a Stuffed Animal!

Patrons of the Mid-Day Arts Café are encouraged to bring a new (with tags still attached), stuffed animal for the VTA Stuffed Animal Toy Drive benefitting eight social service agencies dealing with children and families. Donations can be place in the holiday bin located in the lobby of the Schuster Center when they come to Mid-Day Arts Café. Donation bins are located throughout the Schuster Center lobby as well as in the Victoria Theatre lobby. Stuffed animals will be collected through Monday, Dec. 5.

Lunch options for Mid-Day Arts Café patrons are provided by Citilites at the Schuster Center include: turkey on ciabatta; curry chicken salad on croissant; Mediterranean trio (gluten-free/vegan); kale chicken Caesar salad; and kale Caesar salad.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. with the event starting promptly at noon in order to conclude by 1 p.m. For more information on the 2016-201 7 Mid-Day Arts Café season, please visit www.victoriatheatre.com.

Tickets are $15 each or $12 for current VTA Season Ticket Holders and includes a complete box lunch provided by Citilites at the Schuster Center, plus discounted parking in The Arts Garage, located on the corner of Second St. and Ludlow. Mid-Day Arts Café is a series presented by Victoria Theatre Association offering a variety of performances from locAl Dayton arts groups. In cooperation with the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance (Dayton Ballet, Dayton Opera and Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra), Muse Machine, DCDC, Stivers Dance Ensemble, Sinclair Community College, Central State University and the University of Dayton. Mid-Day Arts Café offers the chance to network with area arts lovers, view sneak peeks of upcoming performances, and get out of the office for an enjoyable lunch time!
