Toga! Toga! Toga! Put on your favorite college t-shirt and join Victoria Theatre Association for the 2010 Michelob Ultra Cool Films Series presentation of, Animal House. Directed by John Landis and considered number one on Bravo's 100 Funniest Movies, Animal House comes to the historic Victoria Theatre in Dayton for three performances from August 6 -August 8.
In addition to the free popcorn and soda the 2010 Michelob Ultra Cool Films Series always offers, there will also be a $5 per person beer tasting sponsored by Heidelberg Distributing on Aug. 6 and Aug. 7!
Animal House- a hilarious comedy that follows the men of the Delta fraternity's escapades with wild toga parties, road trips, and practical jokes galore- begins with two freshman students who want to pledge a fraternity and decide that they fit in perfectly with the shenanigans of John "Bluto" Blutarsky (John Belushi) and the brothers of Delta Tau Chi. However, due to repeated conduct violations, run-ins with other fraternities and challenges to the college administration (the nasty Dean Wormer), Delta Tau Chi is about to be kicked off campus and its members expelled. Follow the Deltas in their journey to prove they belong at Faber College - partying all the way!
Based on the college experiences of Douglas Kenney, Chris Miller and Harold Ramis, Animal House became one of the most profitable movies of all time. Since its initial release, the film has gained an estimated return of more than $141 million in the form of video and DVDs It won the People's Choice Award for Favorite Non-Musical Motion Picture and, in 2001the United States Library of Congress deemed the film culturally significant and selected it for preservation in the National Film Registry.Please note: Animal House is rated R is not suitable for those under 17 unless they are accompanied by an adult.SPECIAL EVENT!What would make a showing of Animal House complete? Films are shown at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. on Sundays in the Victoria Theatre. Recreating the feel of the old-time Victory movie palace, guests may enjoy free popcorn and soda in the lobby beginning one hour prior to show time, the Mighty Wurlitzer organ concert beginning 30 minutes prior to show time, and a classic cartoon just before the movie. Tickets are just $5 each, or $26 for a 10-ticket passbook.Individual tickets are available day-of-show at the Victoria Theatre box office, beginning one hour prior to show time.
