VTA Presents Mid-Day Arts Café in Conjunction With 'La Bohemè'

Victoria Theatre Association presents the second of eight Mid-Day Arts Café lunches Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in the Mathile Theatre located in the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. October's Mid- Day Arts Café offers an up close and personal look at the Dayton Opera's upcoming performance of La Bohemè.

This hour of entertainment and delicious food, provided by Citilites Restaurant, features a closer look at La Bohème, which will be performed by the Dayton Opera on October 21st and 23rd at the Schuster Center. Giacomo Puccini's La Bohemè has captivated audiences for generations, and is considered by many to be the best opera. Tom Bankston, General and Artistic Director of the Dayton Opera, will kick off the lunch with an introduction to La Bohème. Stage Director Kathleen Clawson and Conductor Joe Mechavich will engage in a discussion on the opera's storyline and what it is like producing La Bohème at the Schuster Center. Lastly, Dayton Opera's Artist-in-Residence, Soprano Jennifer Cherest, will perform "Musetta's Waltz" from La Bohème.

Mid-Day Arts Cafe is a series presented by the Victoria Theatre Association and offers a variety of performances from locAl Dayton arts groups. In cooperation with the Dayton Opera, Dayton Philharmonic, Muse Machine, Dayton Ballet, Zoot Theatre Company, FilmDayton, and Human Race Theatre Company, VTA offers the chance for the local community to network with area arts lovers, view sneak peeks of upcoming performances and enjoy the opportunity to get out of the office for an enjoyable lunch time!

Tickets for the Mid-Day Arts Café include a delicious box lunch from Citilites Restaurant & Bar and a chance to network with fellow arts and culture lovers while Dayton's incredible arts companies show off their talents, tell their stories, preview upcoming performances and answer your questions.
