Victoria Theatre Association and Heidelberg Distributing Company present the Second Annual Cool Films Series Beer-Tasting, July 22nd and 23rd at the historic Victoria Theatre in downtown Dayton. The tasting will begin at 6:30 pm, one hour before the Michelob Ultra Cool Films Series presentation of Academy® Award-winning, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
"The Beer-Tasting for last season's film, Animal House, was such a success, we decided to host another," says Ken Neufeld, President & CEO of the Victoria Theatre Association and Arts Center Foundation, "This year we thought we would focus on some award-winning labels with a Summer theme." Featured beers are: Sam Adams', Summer Ale; Magic Hat's, Wacko; Smutty Nose's, Summer Ale; Victory's, Summer Love; 21st Amendment, Hop Crisis (silver-medalist at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, CO); and Samuel Smith's, Organic Strawberry. Patrons can sample beers for $5 for 4 pours or $8 for six pours, in addition to the film admission price of $5.One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, starring Jack Nicholson, Louise Fletcher and Danny DeVito, gives a dramatic, inside look at the inside of a mental institution. The film was "grand slam" at the 1976 Academy Awards® Ceremony, winning five awards: Best Actor in a Leading Role (Nicolson); Best Actress in a Leading Role (Fletcher); Best Director (Milos Forman); Best Picture; and Best Adapted Screenplay.
