VTA Family Series Presents JOURNEY TO OZ  ImageVictoria Theatre Association announces the 2017-2018 Morris Furniture Company Family Series presentation of Journey to Oz on April 7, 2018 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., along with a sensory-friendly performance on April 8, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the historic Victoria Theatre. Tickets are on sale now at the Ticket Center Stage Box Office, located inside the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center in downtown Dayton, via phone 937-228-3630 or online at www.ticketcenterstage.com.

In this fantastic new adaptation of L. Frank Baum's beloved tales of the land of Oz, the audience becomes a part of the story - singing, dancing and acting alongside professional actors!

Saturday, April 7 includes performances at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. On Sunday, April 8, the Morris Family Series presents a special sensory-friendly performance of JOURNEY TO OZ at 2 p.m. Sensory-friendly performances are specifically designed for children with an autism spectrum disorder, other sensory processing diagnoses, and other special needs. The audience can expect a reduction of loud or jarring sounds, the absence of flashing or strobe lighting on stage, modification of house lights during the performance, and a judgement-free environment where all patrons can feel free to vocalize or move around the theatre if needed. Tickets for JOURNEY TO OZ are $16 each.

Tickets are on sale now through Ticket Center Stage, and may be purchased at the Ticket Center Stage Box Office in the Wintergarden of the Schuster Center or by phone, at 937-228-3630 or toll free 888-228-3630. Ticket Center Stage hours are Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday, noon - 4 p.m., and two hours prior to each performance. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.ticketcenterstage.com.

Hands-On Rolling Workshops are $5 per child!

  • Rolling workshops are held April 7th only between shows from 2:15-3:45. During this time, children will have the opportunity to participate in crafts, performing, and story time.
  • "Journey to Oz" as you make your own character hat and learn iconic choreography that will send you dancing down the yellow brick road!
  • Appropriate for ages 5 - 10.
  • Parents may watch for free.
  • Morris Family Series workshops are conducted by Victoria Theatre Association teaching artists and are not conducted by cast or crew of JOURNEY TO OZ.

You can also join for a free, interactive story time in the Victoria Theatre's Kettering Reception Room on April 7, 2018 at 3:15 p.m. Enjoy great events related to the show you've come to see!
