It's nearly time to break out the popcorn (still FREE!) and soda (still FREE!) for another trip down memory lane with the 2011 Michelob Ultra Cool Films Series at the historic Victoria Theatre.
Victoria Theatre Association's annual salute to classic Hollywood is back! This summer's tableau features 11 films, ranging from the 1939 classic with The Wizard of Oz and concluding in the 1978 fan-favorite, Grease. Throw in a visit from the Sharks and the Jets,
Jack Nicholson,
Humphrey Bogart and
Katharine Hepburn, plus a popular World War II film and a
Mel Brooks weekend and the Michelob Ultra Cool Films series offers something everyone can enjoy!
Films were chosen "by popular demand," based on the results of audience surveys conducted during last summer's films and inspired by shows in the 2011-2012 Miami Valley & Good Samaritan Hospitals Broadway Series. Resident film buff and Vice President of Programming for Victoria Theatre Association, Tina McPhearson spends hours finding movie titles the Miami Valley will enjoy.
"I love the film series!" Tina enthuses, "Films transcend age and gender, and it's so wonderful to see everyone together enjoying a great movie!"
Once again, the series is made possible through the generous support of Heidelberg Distributing Company.
What's the best part about the 2011 Michelob Ultra Cool Films Series (besides FREE popcorn and soda)? Tickets are just $5 each, or $26 for a 10-ticket passbook for renewing passbook subscribers and $28 for new subscribers - a great entertainment bargain during a summer when gas prices are projected at over $4 a gallon!
Passbooks are on sale now through Ticket Center Stage. They may be purchased at the Schuster Center box office in downtown Dayton, by phone at (937) 228-3630 or toll free (888) 228-3630, or online at
www.ticketcenterstage.com - click on Victoria Theatre Association, then Michelob Ultra Cool Films.
Individual tickets are available day-of-show at the Victoria Theatre box office, beginning one hour prior to showtime.
Films are shown at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. on Sundays in the air-conditioned comfort of the Victoria Theatre.
