Victoria Theatre Association proudly announces the PNC Family Series presentation of Beauty and the Beast, April 2-3, 2011 at 1 pm and 3:30 pm at the Victoria Theatre.
American Family Theatre, the nation's premiere producer of family musicals, is presenting an all-new full-production of Beauty and the Beast. The musical is based on the original 18th century French tale, not the Disney version. Beauty and the Beast will captivate audiences with fancy costumes, beautiful songs and dance numbers."Their shows burst with energy, song, and special effects. Again and again, American Family Theatre proves how strong it is in creating original contemporary theater. Their engaging productions wonderfully command the attention of young audiences, and their spirit is contagious." - The New York TimesCome in costume (as "Beauty" or the "Beast")! A" Beauty" and a "Beast" costume on hand for kids to dress up in. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to bring cameras for this activity. Kids and adults can also create a special Beauty and the Beast themed craft on the 3rd floor of the Victoria Theatre one hour before each performance.
The Non-Profit Partner for Beauty and the Beast is Hannah's Treasure Chest. Patrons coming to Beauty and the Beast are asked to bring donations of new socks and new underwear for both boys and girls. There is also a particular need for boy's shorts.
