Victoria Theatre Association present the Miami Valley & Good Samaritan Hospitals Broadway Series production of Pat Hazell's hilarious and nostalgic one-man theatrical show The Wonder Bread Years, December 7-19, 2010 at the historic Victoria Theatre.

Pat Hazell triumphantly returns to Dayton where he has starred in Bunk Bed Brothers and The Good Humor Men. Hazell is one of the original writers for NBC's "Seinfeld," a "Tonight Show" veteran, a critically acclaimed playwright and a contributing commentator to National Public Radio.
Hazell's The Wonder Bread Years is a fast- paced comical production that gracefully walks the line between stand-up and theatre. If you grew up in the 1960s or 1970s (or raised kids in those decades!), you'll remember the joys of Clackers, Lawn Jarts and riding in the way back of the Country Squire wagon. The Wonder Bread Years features all the fun of Halloween night, Christmas morning and other high watermarks of our collective American youth are played out in this pitch-perfect comedy. Seen on PBS, this laugh-out-loud walk down memory lane stars "one of the five funniest people in America" (Showtime) and "America's foremost pop culture anthropologist" (PBS). Don't miss this hilarious salute to the Baby Boomer Generation!

Tickets are still available! The Wonder Bread Years is on stage at the Victoria Theatre December 7-19, 2010. Performance times are Tuesday through Friday evenings at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Tickets start at $39, with discounts available for available for senior citizens, students and groups. Tickets are on sale now through Ticket Center Stage, and may be purchased at the Schuster Center box office in downtown Dayton or by phone, at (937) 228-3630 or toll free (888) 228-3630. Ticket Center Stage hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday, noon - 4 p.m., and two hours prior to each performance. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.ticketcenterstage.com. Group discounts for 20 or more are available.

Bring a canned food item!

In the spirit of the holiday season, Victoria Theatre Association and The Wonder Bread Years are partnering with The Foodbank, serving Montgomery, Greene and Preble counties, to make sure everyone has a full stomach and fond holiday memories. Patrons can bring canned food items to The Wonder Bread Years and place them in to food barrels set up in the lobby of the Victoria Theatre. "The need for food assistance is at an all time high in our community and continues to climb", stated Burma Thomas, CEO of The Foodbank. "Victoria Theatre Association has certainly served up a hit by choosing The Foodbank as their non-profit partner during the production of The Wonder Bread Years. Donations of food and funds during these holiday weeks will be a tremendous comfort to many families in our area", said Thomas.

Victoria Theatre Association's presentation of The Wonder Bread Years receives support from Performance Sponsor, For the Good of Seniors- a collaboration of support from David's Cemetery& Mausoleums, Home Instead Senior Care, Roberson Law, Routsong Funeral Home, Inc. and VITAS Innovative Hospice Care and, with additional support from Media Partner WYSO Public Radio/91.3FM.

Audiences are invited to learn more about the show at a free Chase Background on Broadway pre-show talk by Pat Hazell Saturday, December 11 at 2 p.m. and Thursday, December 16 at 7 p.m. in the Victoria Theatre's Kettering Reception Roo, located on the 3rd floor. Chase Background on Broadway provides informative and entertaining talks by theatre professionals, focusing on production history, musical highlights, and insider anecdotes. These talks are held prior to the select matinee performances of each show in the Miami Valley and Good Samaritan Hospitals Broadway Series. Chase Background on Broadway is free and open to Broadway Series ticket holders, but seating is limited.
