Due to strong advanced ticket sales, The Human Race Theatre Company is adding five evening performances to the original June 6 - 23 run of Avenue Q. The run of the show is now extended through Saturday, June 29.
Directed by Joe Deer and music directed by Sean Michael Flowers, both Human Race Resident Artists, Avenue Q features a cast of eight talented actors: Andrew Ian Adams as the "Third Hand", Michelle Liu Coughlin as "Christmas Eve", Annie Kalahurka as "Mrs. Thistletwat", James Oblak as "Princeton" and "Rod", Resident Artist Katie Pees as "Kate Monster" and "Lucy", Shawn Storms as "Gary Coleman", Brett Travis as "Nicky" and "Trekkie Monster", and Michael Thomas Walker as "Brian".
Leave the kids at home and get ready for some ridiculous, riotous and downright raunchy puppet behavior in this 2004 triple Tony Award winner by Robert Lopez, Jeff Marx and Jeff Whitty. Come sing along with Princeton, a fresh-faced college grad, and all his wacky new neighbors living way, way, way out on New York City's Avenue Q. The life lessons come fast and funny as he learns that "It Sucks to Be Me," "The Internet Is for Porn" and "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist." Presented in collaboration with the puppet masters at The Zoot Theatre Company, it's laugh-out-loud musical mayhem that's not for the little ones or the faint of heart.
The production sponsors for Avenue Q are Christopher and Jamie Wyse, with additional support from The City of Dayton Human Relations Council; Sam Rinehart CFP,CLU Private Wealth Advisor at Ameriprise Financial, Inc.; Marion's Piazza; The Zoot Theatre Company, Inc.; Robert L. Brandt, Jr., MD; Dr. Ron Anderson and Robb Sloan; Larry S. Glickler-Bradford, Connelly & Glickler Funeral Home; Square One Salon and Day Spa; and Miami Valley Fair Housing Center.
All performances are at the Metropolitan Art Center's Loft Theatre, located at 126 North Main Street in downtown Dayton, Ohio.
Tickets and performance information on Avenue Q are available at www.humanracetheatre.org or by calling Ticket Center Stage at (937) 228-3630, and at the Schuster Center box office.
