HOT MESS IN MANHATTAN's Out-of-Town Tryout Premieres in Dayton

Encore Theater Company is pleased to be the host theatre for the out-of-town tryout of the New York bound musical, HOT MESS IN MANHATTAN starring MAC Award Winning Cabaret Performer Cait Doyle. The entire New York cast and team will rehearse the new book musical during a residency at Encore's Oregon District location February 8-13 with the first public performance of the show Saturday February 12 at 8PM at Sinclair Community College Building.

In "Hot Mess in Manhattan" we journey through the wilds of New York City life with comedy and music that encompasses a variety of styles. With a tagline like "Carrie Bradshaw is a lie", "Hot Mess in Manhattan" is an honest, hilarious, contemporary and touching look at one woman's interaction with the city that never sleeps. The show is musically directed by Vince Peterson, and features world class cellist Dan Delaney and features relatable songs with titles like "Starbucks" and "The Text Message Song". The shows creator and star is Cait Doyle and features music and lyrics by some of musical theatre most celebrated new voices including Ryan Scott Oliver, Adam Gwon, Julianne Wick Davis, Ryan Cunningham & Joshua Salzman, among others. The show begain its life as an award-winning cabaret in New York before Cait and company decided to immortalize the cabaret evening into a full length book musical. Other cast members include: Jeremy Pasha (Jesus Christ Superstar, National Tour) and Derrick Trumbly (Mamma Mia!, National Tour and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Las Vegas)

Cait Doyle received the 2009 Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC) Award for Hot Mess in Manhattan, her monthly show at The Duplex, directed by Jonathan Whitton. Cait recently made her Lincoln Center debut in John Znidarsic's Songbook Series. Other credits include Underwear: A Space Musical (FringeNYC 2008), The Last 5 Years (San Francisco premiere), Wizard of Oz (Syracuse Stage), john & jen (New Hampshire premiere), and All Men are Asses, All Women are Crazy (world premiere, Manhattan Rep Theatre). Cait is a graduate of Syracuse University and a member of Actor's Equity.

Tickets for the February 12th one night only Dayton engagement of Hot Mess In Manhattan are $15 each or $56 to purchase an entire cabaret table of four if ordered in advance.
