Chris Harmon, fresh off of a win of seven Daytony awards for acting and set design at last weeks annuAl Daytony Banquet, will open the Dayton Playhouse season on August 28th with his production of CABARET. Other Daytony decorated individuals involved in CABARET include lead actor Matthew Curry as the Emcee. Matthew was the winner of two Daytony Awards this year for acting.

Dodie Lockwood, a 2008 Dayton Theatre Hall of Fame inductee, will star as ‘Fraulein Schneider'. Lockwood also played the part of Schneider 23 years ago when The Playhouse produced CABARET at their old Third Street location in 1986.

The Dayton Playhouse is proud to present the fist show of it's 2009-2010 season. CABARET, directed by Chris Harmon with Choreographer Annette Looper, will run August 28th - September 13th, 2009.

The scene is a night club in Berlin, in the late 1920's. The Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience to the show and assures them that, whatever their troubles, they'll be forgotten at the Cabaret. His songs provide wry commentary throughout. On the train to Berlin we find Cliff, a young American writer, and Ernst, a German who surprises Cliff by putting his briefcase among Cliff's luggage at the German border. History is in the process of being made. All your favorite musical numbers included.

CABARET' will run from August 28 until September 13, with shows at 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 2pm on Sundays. Single tickets are now available at www.daytonplayhouse.org or by calling 937-424-8477, at a price of $15/Adult, $14/Senior, and $10/Child or Student.
