This week the Dayton Gay Men's Chorus announced their final concert of the season, "Yankee Doodle Dandies", June 5th. The concert will be held June 5th, 2010 at 8 PM in the historic Victoria Theatre, downtown Dayton.
Dayton Gay Men's Chorus will cap-off Dayton's Pride Day activities with their final concert of the season, "Yankee Doodle Dandies", at the landMark Victoria Theatre. The concert features time-honored American Anthems/Ballads, which celebrate our country's diverse cultural heritage. The music selections range from traditional patriotic and spiritual anthems, wild-west ballads, to contemporary country rock classics and have been selected to appeal to a broad audience of all ages.
Artistic Director, Jason Schuler, has crafted an inspiring choral program, which gives voice to the idea that "America is in all of us". Schuler states that "Yankee Doodle Dandies truly promises to be a revolutionary performance of American song, exemplifying a celebration of where we have come from, rights we have fought for and a testimony to the continued struggle for equality." Come join the DGMC for an entertaining evening of tradition, inspiration, and participation in "America, the home of the free and the brave."
