Victoria Theatre Association and Heidelberg Distributing conclude the 2010 Michelob Ultra Cool Films Series with Norman Jewison's production of Fiddler on the Roof, August 27-August 29, at the historic Victoria Theatre.

Winner of three Academy Awards®, Fiddler on the Roof (1971) is a film based on the award-winning 1964 Broadway musical derived from the stories of Sholem Aleichem set in Tsarist Russia in 1905. The story centers on Tevye (Chaim Topol) as a poor milkman and the father of five daughters, who tries to maintain his family's religious traditions while facing outside pressures of the changing world in which they live.

The original Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof was the first musical in history to surpass the 3,000 performance mark. It remains Broadway's fourteenth longest-running show in history. It was nominated for ten Tony Awards®, winning nine, including Best Musical, score, book, direction and choreography. The 1971 film version of Fiddler on the Roof won three Oscars® for Best Cinematography, Best Music Scoring and Best Sound.

Films are shown at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. on Sundays in the Victoria Theatre. Recreating the feel of the old-time Victory movie palace, guests may enjoy free popcorn and soda in the lobby beginning one hour prior to show time, the Mighty Wurlitzer organ concert beginning 30 minutes prior to show time, and a classic cartoon just before the movie. Tickets are just $5 each.
