Dare to Defy Productions presents an amazing production of Godspell. Written by Stephen Schwartz and John-Michael Tebelak, Godspell is a musical made up of a series of parables.

Godspell grips the audience by introducing them to an ensemble of changing characters and featuring some very well known music. Included is the song "Day by Day," which reached #13 on the billboard pop singles chart in the summer of 1972.

Based on the Gospel of Matthew, the show stresses Jesus' humility and compassion, reinforcing that he's a hero for secular humanists as well as the pious. This show can be uplifting and transformative for anyone as it focuses on building a community, a particularly timely theme in today's technology heavy world. In addition, the show stresses the lessons of love and acceptance which will resonate with anyone perplexed by some of the hate and judgement prevalent in society today.

The incredibly talented cast includes Bobby Mitchum as Jesus, Desmond Thomas as John the Baptist/Judas and features Marcus Bedinger, AJ Breslin, Jamal Caan, Courtney Dortch, Esther Hyland, Danielle Kubasky, Hayley Penchoff, Tia Seay, Natalie Sanders and Grant Warden.

Godspell will be presented in the Mathile Theatre, located in the Schuster Center, at 8 PM on October 16th and 23rd and 2 PM and 8 PM on October 17th and 24th, 2015. Tickets can be purchased online at my.ticketcenterstage.com or by calling the Box Office at 1-888-228-3630.

Godspell first opened on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre on June 22nd, 1976. It was later revived on Broadway at The Circle in The Square Theatre on November 11th, 2011.
