The Center for Applied Theatre and Active Culture (CATAC) is pleased to present "Ruth," a solo performance conceived, written, and performed by area actor April Anderson on March 29, 30, 31 and April 5, 6, 7 at 7:30pm and April 1 at 3pm in the Balch Street Theatre, 220 South Balch Street, Akron OH, 44302. Tickets are $10 general admission. $25 for a "family" of three. $5 for each additional "family" member. Reservations can be made by calling 330-867-3299 or online at www.brownpapertickets.com.
April Anderson has constructed an entertaining journey into the Bible's Book of Ruth. Using a variety of musical styles and storytelling techniques, the actor subtlely explores Ruth's relationship with her mother-in-law Naomi and the themes of love, loyalty, and redemption. A perfect family offering for the spring holiday season, Ruth tells a story that resonates strongly today. Costumes are designed by Inda Blatch-Geib.
April Anderson received her BA degree in theatre from Kent State University and her MA degree in theatre from The University of Akron. She has performed on numerous stages around the country and has appeared in television and film. April has recently worked as a guest artist with New World Performance Lab. "Ruth" is a project that April would like to make available to churches, schools, and community organizations.
