Beavercreek Community Theatre's next production is a comedy but it's a comedy with a lot of heart and compassion.
"The Dixie Swim Club" only has five characters -- five Southern women who met while on their college swim team. Each year they come together for a weekend of friendship and support as each faces their own demons, joys, sorrows and pains.Cassandra Engber and Debra Kent of Centerville and Stefanie Pratt, Jill Proudfoot and Rachel Wilson of Kettering star in the show being presented at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays from October 23 through November 1.The audience first meets the women when they come together for their 22nd annual girl's beach trip since graduating from college. The show takes a look at their get-togethers when they are at the ages of 44, 49, 54 and 72.The production staff includes Greg Smith of Beavercreek as the director and Mark Diffenderfer of Dayton as the assistant director. Steve Strawser of Beavercreek is the stage manager, Mary Mathieu of Beavercreek is the producer, John Falkenbach of Dayton is the lighting technician and Bruce Brown of Dayton is the set designer. Are you an avid theatergoer?
