The entanglements of love are the roots of comedy for the next Beavercreek Community Theatre production, "She Loves Me."
Maraczek's Parfumerie is the setting for this romantic 60's-era musical about Georg Nowack, played by Adam Leigh of Kettering, and his co-workers, who lead quietly dreary lives as sales assistants in a little Budapest boutique until Amalia Balash shows up, looking for a job.Once Amalia, portrayed by Amy Brown of Miamisburg, is hired, life in anything but quiet or dreary in the little boutique. She and Georg passionately hate each other, which creates an interesting situation when he discovers that she's actually the secret pen pal he's been exchanging "Dear Friend" letters with.Chris Harmon of Beavercreek directs the reconciliation of their simultaneous love and hate relationship at 8 p.m. March 6, 7, 13 and 14 and at 3 p.m. on March 8 and 15. The crew of "She Loves Me" includes Beavercreek residents Bruce Green as the producer, Dr James Tipps as the music director and Hans Unser as the stage manager. John Falkenbach of Kettering is in charge of the lighting while Dayton residents Josh Hollister and John Ueber are the costumer and choreographer, respectively.
