Shakespeare gets a sensory-friendly makeover as it comes to Fredericksburg, Va.. In a special event on Saturday, April 2, Staunton-based Polaris Shakespeare Company is teaming with STEPVA, the local 501(c)3 theater arts nonprofit for people with disabilities, to host a dance workshop and sensory-friendly performance of the Bard's comedy As You Like It.

Choreographed by Associate Director of Dance Education Melanie Szucs, this ballet follows the traditional Brothers Grimm storyline with a few exciting twists. Cinderella features a compilation of music and a special excerpt from Giselle, performed by the Dance Workshop with choreography by Marius Petipa and music by Adolphe Adam.

Andrew will teach lucky participants a song and dance combo from HAMILTON as well as sharing tricks of the trade for auditioning for musical theatre productions. Enrollment in the masterclass is extremely limited. The class is also open to auditors who can observe and learn from the audience. The masterclass will conclude with a lively Q & A with Andrew where he will share his experiences in this historic, revolutionary and inspiring new American musical phenomenon!
