Stage Door School of Dance

The Gateway's Annual Fundraiser, SHAKE THE SHORE, will take place at The Gateway in Bellport on July 29 at 6 PM. The evening will honor Bellport's Diane Giattino and will feature a performance by The Gateway Alum, Nick Sanchez of Broadway's Hamilton, as well as, a special appearance by two-time Olympic Medalist, Nancy Kerrigan – star of The Gateway's Holiday Spectacular on Ice.

Matilda JR. begins rehearsals and will run at The Gateway Playhouse on Fridays and Saturdays from June 7 – July 15, 2023.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater has announced its newly created virtual audition intensive. Developed and led by Arena Stage's Community Engagement department, the online intensive prepares students and artists ages 16-22 for careers in theater with group and private coaching sessions in audition techniques.

This December, you could have seen Avery Allen, Keira Ballan, Madison Beehner, and Thea Belle Flanzer tapping their hearts out at the Patchogue Theater in Elf the Musical. Now the girls are banding together to raise money for their home away from home, The Gateway Playhouse.

High-school senior, Thea Belle Flanzer, and high-school sophomore, Avery Allen, are arranging a raffle to raise money for WC Kitchen's Hurricane Dorian relief project in the Bahamas. The prizes include: a 2 night stay at Gurney's Resort, 4 tickets to the opening night of Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular, and 4 tickets to the Gateway Playhouse's production of Elf the Musical.

On May 14th, Stage Door School of Dance was honored to welcome to the studio Danny Mefford, choreographer of Broadway's Dear Evan Hansen, Fun Home, and TV's 'Rise'. Dancers were offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform and receive feedback on their competition and recital numbers from Mr. Mefford, in addition to an inspirational and riveting Q&A session.
