About FLAMENCO LA

​We are a Flamenco duo living in Los Angleles California that perform modern and Flamenco fusion all around the world. Having met through our love of Flamenco, we have been working together now for over 10 years!

Arleen Hurtado is a touring Flamenco dancer who has traveled the world dancing in theaters across the US, the Middle East, Spain, and China. She is also a respected instructor maintaining a loyal student base with dance courses at Orange Coast College.

Benjamin Woods is an international recording artist (18 albums) and touring musician known the world over for his originality and excellence in guitar artistry. Benjamin is proudly endorsed by Godin Guitars (Canada), Cordoba Acoustic Guitars, Ortega Guitars (Europe) Lucero Guitars, and Daniel Mari Strings.

Created and choreographed by Artistic Director of BFLR, Ilisa Rosal, the piece was derived from Bram Stokers' Dracula. It inspired the creation of a potent and vivid Flamenco Ballet, connecting with this timeless material to create a new incarnation of what is probably the most definitive work in this genre. Ballet Flamenco La Rosa (BFLR), an international flamenco dance company, based in Miami and made up of international dancers and musicians, presents the World Premiere of Verano y Humo, an original Flamenco Ballet that blends the traditional art form of flamenco with a classic American play. Created and choreographed by Artistic Director of Ballet Flamenco La Rosa, Ilisa Rosal, the piece was inspired by Tennessee Williams' Summer and Smoke.
