Whatever you do, don’t ignore the signs. The posters outside the auditorium alerting audiences to the “very loud music” are not being overly cautious. Quite the opposite. With its ear-splitting drums and a rumbling bass that rolls across the room juddering through our bodies, this Giselle’s effect relies as much on sound as the dancing.

Zhang Quan’s Acrobatic Swan Lake is so much more than its title suggests. The show originated in China in 2004 and, in the intervening decades, has travelled the world and was updated in 2019 under director Yan Hongxia. As choreographer and artistic director, Quan has created a work which seamlessly blends the elegance and poetry of ballet with the ability of circus to defy physics and the limits of the human body.
Central Indiana Dance Ensemble Wraps Up 24th Season

Central Indiana Dance Ensemble (CIDE) is preparing to wrap up their 24th season. First, dancers will head to Spokane, Washington, May 6 to 9, for the Ballet Alliance Festival. Upon their return, they will present Snow White on May 18 and 19 at the Tarkington Theatre at The Center for the Performing Arts.
