Dance Expression

The mainstay of Sydney’s high summer season, Sydney Festival, sails back this January with a first class line-up of World Premieres, extraordinary immersive experiences, cutting-edge public art, Australian exclusives, free events, trailblazing First Nations programming and an epic live music offering. 

Kentucky Performing Arts (KPA) kicks off its 40th anniversary season celebration with a community-wide event on Sunday, August 27 at The Kentucky Center (501 West Main Street). The Community Open House will welcome the entire city and state to the building where it all began.

PEGGY BAKER PROJECTS, in its final stage production, will present BEAUTIFUL RENEGADES, a brand new play written by Michael Ross Albert and directed by Eda Holmes. The show will run September 20 - October 2, 2022 at The Theatre Centre. 

Forty-four years ago, in 1978, the original Bob Fosse's 'Dancin'' opened on Broadway. It was the quintessential culmination of the collection of Bob Fosse's choreography up to that point in time. He won a Tony award that year for Best Choreography for 'Dancin'.'

At the conclusion of this 2021-22 academic year, esteemed Professor Kun-Yang Lin will retire from his position at Boyer College. The dance department will celebrate Lin's 19 years of service through a special, end-of-semester, free event entitled Dancing Mind, Thinking Body.

In the spirit of Sankofa, in order to understand our present and ensure our future, we must know our past. Through Reframing the Narrative, June 14–19 with seven performances on the Opera House stage, the weeklong programming highlights and recognizes the extensive contribution of Black voices in ballet.

North Star Theater Company will once again partner with Our Lady of the Lake R. C. Church in Sparta to present the family-friendly blockbuster musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

North Star Theater Company presents its second season's opening show, “An Evening In Spoon River,” a night of music, art, dance and theater.  The show will be held at Cornerstone Playhouse, located at 74 Main Street in Sussex, N.J.

Following a month of Black History related commemorations and events at Elmhurst Ballet School, the vocational school in association with Birmingham Royal Ballet, reinforces its commitment to develop an inclusive landscape across its Edgbaston, Birmingham base.

A group of talented kids turn to dance to make a difference in the life of George Floyd and individuals who died like him. As cast of the Off-Broadway hit show, Over The Rainbow: The Rock Ballet, they dared to tackle the Wizard of Oz and transformed the classic favorite into a modern day version, telling their story through dance. In staying true to their charitable mission that dance transforms all, they united to join in the fight for Justice and address the impact it has on us all.
