About DANCE ALLIANCE OF THE PIKES PEAK REGION
The Dance Alliance of the Pikes Peak Region is the newest evolution of Colorado Springs Dance Theatre, a grass-roots 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has promoted dance in the Pikes Peak Region since 1977. Founded over forty-five years ago by Barbara Kline and a dedicated group of volunteers, Colorado Springs Dance Theatre was a leading presenting organization that showcased professional, world-class dance to the Pikes Peak region, exposing local communities to internationally renowned dance. Now in its 5th decade of community service, The Dance Alliance has hosted over 100 of the world’s pre-eminent dance companies including Dance Theatre of Harlem, Paul Taylor Company, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and the Martha Graham Dance Company. More recent seasons have included sold-out shows by Keigwin + Company and Ailey II. Additionally, The Dance Alliance has granted over $50,000 in tuition aid to dance students in the Pike Peak Region through our long established Esther Geoffrey Scholarship Competition.
