Is she mad… or just angry? Alone in a mental hospital, Zelda Fitzgerald, icon of the Jazz age, asks the questions her doctor should have. Did F. Scott steal her words? Did he claim she was insane just to gain his freedom? Can a woman decide her own fate? In this poignant, playful and truthful one-woman show, Zelda finally gets to tell her side of the story. Adapted and performed by award-winning Dallas actress Catherine D. DuBord and directed by award-winning Texan Lydia Mackay, this historical play wrestles with issues that are not at all a thing of the past.

Catherine D. DuBord

Zelda Fitzgerald
Catherine DuBord is a classically trained actress holding a BFA in Theatre from SMU, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Upon graduation, Catherine hit the ground running and hasn’t slowed down. Her wide range of talents makes it hard to put her in any one box. Raised in North Texas, Catherine has that quintessential girl-next-door look that works wonders in the commercial world and she’s got skills with a teleprompter that her industrial clients adore. She’s a highly experienced, versatile, and in-demand voiceover actor and announcer, representing major brands both domestically and internationally. No stranger to the stage, Catherine has worked extensively in 50+ productions in a wide array of challenging roles at virtually every major theater in the Metroplex, earning her numerous acting awards and nominations. She is a proud member of Actors' Equity and is represented by The Mary Collins Agency in Dallas.

Lydia Mackay

Director
Lydia Mackay is proud to call Dallas/Fort Worth her home, personally and artistically. She holds a BFA in Theatre from Texas Wesleyan University and an MFA in Acting from Southern Methodist University. In addition to being a stage and voice actor, Lydia is an Assistant Professor of Performance at Texas Christian University. She’s received the Live Theatre League’s Theatre Arts Educator of the Year Award and was a Teaching Artist for the inaugural year of the Tony Award winning Dallas Theater Center’s ‘Public Works Dallas’ initiative. As an active member of the DFW Arts community, Lydia has served on the season selection committee for the AT&T Performing Arts Center’s ‘Elevator Series’ and served as a committee member for the DFW #NotInOurHouse movement. When she’s not teaching or performing, you’ll find her producing, directing, coaching, choreographing combat, or meditating. She’s a Registered Yoga Teacher, a proud member of the SAFD, AEA, and ATME, and is represented by The Mary Collins Agency.
