Soul Rep Theatre Company presents the biennial Ted Shine New Play Festival, a celebration of Black theatre guided by the theme of Sankofa, honoring the legacy of Dallas playwright Ted Shine while uplifting emerging voices. The festival features Soul Rep classics and returning works including The Drums of My So Black Me and Father Brown by Chris Herod, Communion by Anyika McMillan-Herod, and The House Special by Keith Price. New works by emerging playwrights include Neither One of Us by Tyler Lang, Dearie by Olivia Lewiz, and Threat App by Cherie' Monique Williams. The festival is part of Soul Rep's 30th Anniversary Season and is produced in collaboration with a cohort of interns from Historically Black Colleges and Universities and prestigious arts programs.
