Zak Reynolds, Kyle Igneczi & More to Lead WaterTower Theatre's DOGFIGHT, 7/25-8/17

WaterTower Theatre today announced the cast for the new musical Dogfight, with music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, book by Peter Duchan, running July 25 - August 17, 2014 at the Addison Theatre Centre. The ensemble cast stars Zak Reynolds at Eddie Birdlace; Juliette Talley as Rose Fenny; Kyle Igneczi as Boland; Matt Ransdell, Jr. as Bernstein; Beth Albright as Marcy/Ensemble; Branden Loera as Fector/Ensemble; Matthew Silar as Gibbs/Ensemble; Joseph Burnam as Stevens/Ensemble; Stephanie Riggs as Mama/Ensemble; Aubrey Ferguson as Ruth Two Bears/Ensemble and Steve Barcus as the Lounge Singer/Ensemble.

Many of the cast will be making their WaterTower Theatre stage debuts in Dogfight including Zak Reynolds, Kyle Igneczi, Matt Ransdell, Jr., Branden Loera, Matthew Silar, Joseph Burnam, Stephanie Riggs and Aubrey Ferguson.

The creative team for Dogfight is led by Director Terry Martin. The team includes Mark Mullino as the Music Director, John De Los Santos as the Choreographer, Michael Sullivan as the Set Designer, Michael Robinson as the Costume Designer, Jason Foster as the Lighting Designer, Scott Guenther as the Sound Designer and Gillian Salerno-Rebic as the Properties Designer. The Assistant Director is Kelsey Leigh Ervi, the Stage Manager is Caron Grant and the Assistant Stage Manager is Kristin Van Sickle. Vicki Cheatwood is the Dramaturg.

Dogfight is the winner of the prestigious 2013 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical. It takes place on the eve of the Kennedy assassination on November 21, 1963, Dogfight chronicles the story of newly inducted Marine, Eddie Birdlace. Before shipping out to Vietnam, Birdlace and his friends make a bet: Each man contributes $50 to a pot, and whoever brings the ugliest date that night to a bar wins the prize. But when Eddie meets Rose, an awkward and idealistic waitress as his date, she rewrites the rules of the game and teaches him the power of compassion. Dogfight is a musical adaptation of the 1991 indie film starring River Phoenix and Lili Taylor.
